メティエダール・デ・サンボリック・デ・ラックシリーズ」時計 - ヴァシュロンコンスタンタン×象彦（2010‐2012）

スイスの高級老舗時計メーカーであるヴァシュロン・コンスタンタンの「メティエダール・ラ・サンボリック・デ・ラックシリーズ」で時計を共同製作。
ヴァシュロンコンスタンタンは、スイス・ジュネーブに本拠地を置く1755年創業の老舗時計メーカー。
手仕事による芸術と自らの芸術的な時計技術を融合させたアートな時計コレクション
「メティエ・ダール（＝職人の手仕事による芸術）」シリーズの中で時計を共同制作いたしました。
3モデルを1セットとして、全世界20セット限定で販売されたこのシリーズは、
アジア、とりわけ日本の伝統的なモチーフを使用したモデルです。

Vacheron Constantin is a long-established watchmaker based in Geneva, Switzerland, founded in 1755. We jointly created watches in the series of ‘Métiers d’Art (artwork created manually by craftsmen)’. This is a collection of watches created with the fusion of hand-crafted and artistic watch-making techniques. The series was sold worldwide with a limited run of 20 sets, and each set included three models. Traditional motifs of Asia, especially of Japan, were used in this model. ※Currently not for sale.

  小さな文字盤の中に、蒔絵で日本の世界を作り出します。

  The world of Japan is created in the small dial face with Maki-e technique.

  京都らしいシンプルな美しさを意識し、
  日本の伝統的な意味合いを持つ意匠をデザイン化しました。

  We drew designs which encompass the meaning of Japanese traditions, keeping the beauty of simplicity, the characteristic of Kyoto.

  Foundation making.

  一つ一つ職人によって丁寧に蒔絵を施します。

  Craftsmen apply the Maki-e technique meticulously for each piece.

  裏面には表面と違う蒔絵意匠が入っています。

  The reverse side has a different Maki-e pattern from that of the front.

  ジュネーブだけでなく、京都でも打ち合わせを行います。
  実際に蒔絵の様子を目で見て確かめます。

  We held discussions not only in Geneva, but also in Kyoto. Craftsmen observed the entire Maki-e process.

  図柄は綿密に検討します。

  Patterns were carefully reviewed.

  2010年のシリーズ発表時にはジュネーブで世界的な時計のイベントである
  “SIHH”での発表となりました。会場では蒔絵実演も行いました。

  When we released this series in 2010, it was exhibited at ‘SIHH’, the international fair of watchmaking. A demonstration of Maki-e was also held at the venue.
